From simple beginnings with the patent of the first carton stapler in 1935, ISM continued its leadership in the corrugated carton closure market with the manufacture of high quality wide-crown staples and staplers. Purchased in 1972 by a European investor, ISM expanded its market penetration into the manufacture of wood-to-wood staples and tools used in the construction, industrial, and furniture industries.
Today, under new ownership, ISM’s two independent manufacturing plants in Butler, PA, and South Gate, CA, continue to provide the quality, experience, and service that our customers have learned to rely on over the past 70 years with our ISM, Carton Closing, Container Stapling, Carpenters’ Choice, Air Nail, and NAW Specialty Wire branded products.
